The Pocono Mountain’s form a 2,400 square miles escarpment overlooking Northeastern Pennsylvania. These mountains are home to rolling terrain, waterfalls, thriving woodlands and 175 miles of winding rivers. The name comes from Pokawachne which means “Creek Between Two Hills.” This area has long been a popular vacation area, accessible within a two hour drive for millions of metropolitan residents. Many of these communities have resorts with fishing, hunting, skiing, and outdoor recreation.
